Fishing  (local)

 

          The area is nationally known for its coarse fishing and licenses can be obtained from us to cover waters including the Huntspill, the Brue, the Axe, the King Sedgemoor Drain and the South Drain. There is a closed season throughout Sedgemoor for freshwater fish in rivers in the period between 14 March and 16 June. Ponds can still be fished.

 

Rich's Farmhouse Cider – Watchfield (3 miles)

 

Traditional Somerset cider and other drinks. Sample before you buy. It’s where we get our cider!!!

 

Burnham-on-sea (4 miles)

          Burnham-on-Sea is a small seaside town with lovely sandy beaches and many other attractions.

Brean Leisure Park (7 miles)

 

          Fun rides, waterslides, indoor and outdoor pools, Laser quest etc

 

Animal Farm Adventure Park - Brean (7 miles)

 

          Animals, Slides, train rides, indoor play area etc

 

The Action Centre – Churchill (10 miles)

 

Quad bikes, 4x4 off-road driving, ski slope, mountain biking, horse riding, tobogganing, abseiling, archery and air rifle shooting 

 

Glastonbury (12 miles)

 

          In the Abbey grounds, so legend would have us believe, lies the body of King Arthur. The Abbey ruins mark the site of the first Christian church in England. If you feel energetic, climb the fascinating Glastonbury Tor.

 

Clarkes Village - Street ( 14 miles)

 

          A village of factory shops including clothes, knitwear, fashion, china and of course shoes!

 

Weston-super-Mare (15 miles)

 

          Large resort town, Pier, sea front, Seaquarium, Night Life, shopping

 

Cheddar Gorge and Caves (15 miles)

 

          Britain's largest gorge, caves, the Crystal Quest (JRR Tolkien's inspiration for Helm's Deep in Lord of the Rings), Jacob's Ladder, Britain's oldest complete skeleton

 

Fleet Air Arm Museum - Yeovilton (20 miles)

 

          Largest collection of Naval aircraft in Europe, Concorde, Aircraft Carrier experience, adventure play area.

 

Wookey Hole – Wells (20 miles)

Bath (35 miles)

 

The World Heritage Site of Bath is one of England's most beautiful places to visit.

It is a unique city with its hot springs, Roman Baths, splendid Abbey and Georgian stone crescents, independent shops, a diverse range of restaurants, theatres, cinemas, pubs and nightclubs, along with interesting museums, and a wide range of guided tours.

 

Longleat - Warminster (35 miles)

 

          Safari Park, Mazes, Longleat House, Railway, boats, butterfly garden etc.

 

Dunster (35 miles)

 

          Attractive village on the edge of Exmoor. The Castle and Castle Gardens are open and a walk around the village can be very enjoyable. The working water Mill, Village Gardens and Church are all open to the public. You can even arrive by steam train to this most picturesque of villages.
